Moon and the Mysterious Ninja: Book no. 3

Hi everyone! Incase you didn’t know me, my name is Moon, and my best friend is Selene. As you all know, I am a fighter, not a decider. Selene is pretty much the opposite of me, although she does fight really good... (I wonder what’s up with that?) Anyways. I’m gonna tell you guys all about my newest mystery. It involves a bit of fighting, hiding, etc. etc. Exciting right? Let’s get started.

So, it started off as any other day. Selene and I were in the swimming pool and we were swimming laps. Just then, I got a mail on my phone. Shivering, I got out and turned my phone on. Scrolling through my messages, I found the mail. It was from my mom. This is what it said:

Dear Moon and Selene,

We need help with another mission. Meet me at the Creamery. Come fast.

Mom

I told Selene about this and I told her that we should go. She replied “I dunno Moon. It sounds like a trap to me. But, that’s probably just me. Let’s go!” Seconds later, we were on our bikes and went to find Mom.

So then, we reached the Creamery, and found my mom eating ice cream. She smiled at us and asked “Do you guys want an ice cream?” We accepted two Crunchy Caramel’s in a cone. I asked my mom what happened. She said, ”There is a mysterious ninja on the loose. Our HQ recently changed locations but we can’t tell you two yet as it might put us in danger.”

We listened to this open-mouthed and I was half wishing that we had stayed in the swimming pool. But I still said ok. So did Selene. We again zoomed off on our bikes, but it looked like someone was tailing us. We realized who it was alright... (P.S. It was the Ninja...)!!!! I whispered this to my mom who sent a message to Selene. We three nodded and took a sudden right turn. We wanted to send him off our trail and we kept taking different random turns to the left and right. We lost the Ninja and my mom secretly directed us to the HQ. We got there and made sure no one was following us.

Once we were inside, she filled us up on everything that had happened before we knew about this case. She said:

“The mysterious ninja has been stealing things from the antique stores. He seems to be looking for the most precious antique item in the world, but what he doesn’t’ know is that the item is actually right in the middle of our HQ, which is so fiercely guarded that as soon as somebody is inside, alarms go off and there are a lot of traps waiting for the thief.”

We wanted to see the item, so my mom took us there and casually said “Why don’t you guys try to train here. We’ll turn off the alarms for now for you. And if you complete it once, you get an amazing prize!”

We accepted and started to train. It took us 3-4 times, but we finally completed it on our 5^th try. The amazing prize was that we got 3 free tickets to the Kung Fu Panda 4 movie, in the best seats in the house. We were so happy we started to scream. After we got out, my mom turned on the alarms. Immediately it started to ring. We rushed back inside and saw the ninja trying to steal the precious antique. We tried to stop him but we got thrown back. It seemed as if he had put up a force field in the room. We hit and hit it but it didn’t budge. Finally, I got so mad that I finally yelled “STEP AWAY FROM THE ITEM!” As I yelled, a wave of power flowed through me. My eyes glowed brilliant silver. And then suddenly the barrier shattered and my voice carried through the room. It knocked the ninja off his feet. I was so angry that I didn’t even hesitate to go through the lasers. I saw a tinge of silvery gold around me as I leapt through each laser, as light as a feather. I got to the ninja and lifted him into the air. I felt so powerful and I carefully made my way back to my mom and Selene.

Once I put the ninja down, my body (especially my head) started to throb painfully. But I had just enough energy to pull the mask of the ninja. But I didn’t have enough energy to see his face. I was in major pain. My body shut down on its own. I heard Selene scream “MOON!” My mom called “GUARDS! Help!” She sounded very worried. I closed my eyes for what I thought would be the very last time in my life...

I woke up in a strange room filled to the brim with strange white machines. I realized I was in the HQ’s hospital. My mom was leaning over my bed, and when she saw me open my eyes, she grinned. She asked “How are you feeling?” I said “Fine.” I was astonished at the sound of my voice. It was so croaky. I asked about the ninja. She said “Since you unmasked him, you’re the one who has to see him first. As soon as you passed out, we averted our eyes. Let me take you to him.” So, I got out and, with support from my mom, went all the way to the prison.

As we reached, I saw some parts of the ninja. He looked like he was burned. As I got closer, I saw a familiar face. I gasped “It’s you?! You’re the mysterious Ninja?!” My mom looked at me dumbstruck. “You know this guy? Who is he?” I turned and looked at her, speechlessly. Sighing, she said “I think you have some explaining to do, young lady. Why don’t we let this fine young gentleman come too. You both should explain everything properly, I hope. By the way, what is his name?” I said “Nax.”

“So, you two are childhood friends? Does Selene know about him?” I replied “Yes. Actually Mom, can you call Selene here? I think she’d like to know about this part.” Selene was called in and I explained everything after from how we met. This is what I told them:

“Nax and I fantasized about being ninjas all the time. We would practice fighting moves on each other. We practiced so much that we were practically ninjas. And then I left. Somebody had found me, and adopted me, but not Nax. I cried for him every night, until I met Selene. And then Selene and I became best friends. I almost forgotten him until I met Selene. Strangely, she always reminds me of him. During nights, when I'm alone in the bed, I always wondered what life would have been like if Nax had been adopted with me, and whether Selene and I would be best friends. But I also wondered what life he had then. I knew he would be roughly around the same age as Selene. I was always sad that he wasn’t next to me.”

My mom and Selene stared at this open-mouthed and with confused looks. Nax then added a bunch more to what I said. This is what he said:

“After Moon left, I wandered the streets, angry at everyone and everything. I would refuse anything a stranger gave me, because I didn’t want to be tricked. Finally, I realized that I was going to have to make a living for myself, so I made myself a ninja suit. I searched around every antique shop in the country for the most precious item. It was called the Wish. It would grant any wish in the world, but, only the purest wish asked would be granted. By the time I tracked the Wish, it was taken by your mom. My dearest wish was to find Moon again, but because Ashley took it, it turned out that I didn’t need the Wish at all. I only recognized you when you yelled at me. I remembered that voice, but when it hit me, I fell down and hit my head. I passed out and it was only when you got me to the safer side, I woke up. By the time I was up, I couldn’t help you. You had passed out and your mom had called the guards on me. I could only scream and yell your name, but no one tried to help me.”

To the last statement, my mom said dryly “It’s probably because you were stealing stuff from antique shops, the way I remember it.” Nax started to get up but I held him back. I looked at him and smiled. I said “We’re going to have a lot of fun, okay? So don’t dare to ruin it now.” He looked back at me and grumpily said “All right, fine. Can we go down to the garden? It’s nice and cool there.” The next moment, I was holding Selene’s and Nax’s hands and Selene was holding Mom’s hand.  We four hugged, and my mom and Selene started talking at the same time. All I could hear was, let’s eat and wait for these two. And I didn’t hear the rest. We went back and ate some food. It had been a long time since we had eaten something.

And that’s the end of my story folks! I hope you enjoyed my most recent adventure, and the happy ending to it. But don’t worry, there are still more adventures to come. And I will be very happy, cause Nax got employed here and is assigned to whatever mission Selene and I get. He’s going to be the most amazing new best friend ever to complete our trio! Oh, it’s time for high school! All right, bye!
